I’ve been having some monsterous problems in the last few months with the site. I’ve also been learning quite a bit too. As a good-natured kind of guy, I find it mind boggling to think that some asshole has hacked into the code of my site and put some sort of malicious code into some of my pages.
I really don’t know what it would achieve and I can’t think why anyone would wish to inflict this upon me, as I teach people how to play music, on the most part, for free.
I have been working with my webspace provider and we believe that we have sorted out all of the malware issues and the site should be back up, clean and safe today. I have submitted it to Google for review so hopefully they should give us the green light shortly.
The moral of the story is: being a nice person won’t protect you from all the pricks in the world. If you run a website, make sure to stay aware that you are always a target. Anyway… back to the fun stuff..
Online Video Lessons
For those of you in far off countries, I’m starting to offer web based video lessons. I can get in touch with you on iChat, AIM and I think MSN Messenger now does video chat with Macs…
If you’re interested, drop me a line and we’ll figure out how best to proceed.
A good pair of headphones and a decent webcam / microphone will help you get the most from the lessons. I’ll be using a sony camera for video and pro tools for audio. Top quality is assured!

Dave,
I’m intrigued with the idea of “distance” lessons. Tell me more. How do I go about giving it a whirl? Costs? I can get some nice ear phones and a webcam.
Holla!

Hi Dave, I just wanted to say G’day from one Irishman to another,,I live way down under in Australia & have lived here since i was 2 after coming from Limerick in ’69, so I’m an old sod with a dream! I stumbled across your site after googling bass lessons, I am so impressed with your manner of delivery & ease of explanation with regard to the bass lessons. I became interested in bass after a couple of workmates asked me to fill-in for their bass player who was on holiday for a month. I’ve never even held a bass til this happened!! Anyway, they showed me a couple of easy shapes to songs & i muddled thru with lots of help from my lead guitarist mate,”Teabag” shouting directions from across the room as he played. Anyway, we managed to play a couple hours worth of easy songs, but one that i liked, which helped & by the end of the night, i was hooked on bass!!! I’ve had a Epiphone Les Paul for about 8yrs & never learned how to play it, just plugged it in now & then, made a noise til the neighbiurs complained, then put it away again til i had the urge again! Now,, I have the Gibson ’72 Triumph bass that another mate has “given” me & I rarely touch the guitar now!! I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your bass lessons & handy tips. It makes me mad that i wasted(?) good money on a MusicMasterPro subscription just before i found your free site, (is Jay Dynasty a mate of yours? what a waste!), but rest assured,,I will eventually subscribe, to show my appreciation.
Thank you Dave & keep spreadin the word,, you rock.

It really is stupid that someone would do that and it pisses me off just thinking about it. I really rely on your video lessons and techniques alot and ive learned so much from them that i really take it personally when someone does something like that. I hope for mysake and every other bass player out there that needs these lessons that you continue making lessons for people to view.
im in a band and i need to keep improving and its thanks to you i got this far!
