Brit Funk (BGM 49)
Welcome to Interactive Style File number 2!
Every month, I’ll be composing a short tune that ties in with a theme from that issue.
This month, it’s a wicked slice of early 90′s Brit funk, inspired by the likes of Jamiroquai, Incognito and the James Taylor Quartet. This genre was also referred to as ‘Acid Jazz’, and you can read a bit about the style itself and the bands involved by clicking on this link to my friends at allmusic.com
You can listen to the track here for free…
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
- Next week, I’ll be posting a series of video lessons on Youtube to give you an in-depth look at how I played the parts.
- If you who really want to get inside the tune, I have a copy of the full song and also a backing track with the bass removed, available to purchase for the outrageously cheap price of £1. I must be mad, it’s like giving it away…..
- Simply select the file type you prefer, click ‘Buy Now’ and for £1 you can be downloading both tracks in a matter of minutes.
