Technique
I though I should post a few lesson ideas that cover some principles of good technique. It always suprises me to see how many young players are using ‘bad’ technique. It’s rife all over Youtube and it gives me cause for great concern. The problem with most players technique is that they have no real chance to test it from home.
By that, I mean that bad playing habits (poor posture, bad angles in the wrists, twisted hand shapes etc..) may not cause you huge problems while you practice your instrument in your bedroom for an hour every couple of nights.
When you’re out on the road, playing 2 hours shows, five nights a week and your body is run down from travelling… poor technique hits home. Establishing some principles of good technique will help you to enjoy many years of injury free playing.
